Luxury home sales across the US are showing remarkable diversity these days, with recent top transactions ranging from $3.7M all the way up to an incredible $130M in certain markets. While the highest sale nationally hit $130M, other noteworthy deals closed at $47M, $40.2M, $40M, $21.2M, $19M, $18M, and $17.5M. It’s interesting to see that in four major metros, even the fifth-highest sales exceeded $10M—evidence of just how deep luxury pricing can go in those areas. One market in particular stood out for having its top five sales all within a tighter range, from $24M to $40M, showing less of a gap at the high end. This data comes from public listings, so private sales aren’t included, and in places where sale details aren’t disclosed, only listing prices are reflected. As someone who works every day with buyers and sellers at all price points—including those navigating unique situations like foreclosure, divorce settlements, or seeking to maximize their home equity—I always keep an eye on these trends. They remind us how every market—and every seller or buyer situation—can be unique, whether you’re looking for your first home or exploring the upper end of the market.
